Innovation & Demonstration

Innovation/Demonstration Randall Arendt in Kannapolis, NC

One of the goals of Resourceful Communities is to help our grassroots partners become leaders in developing projects that demonstrate innovative approaches that blend conservation, sustainable community economic development and social justice.  As grassroots organizations, our partners are personally connected and committed to the communities they serve.  The work they do has meaningful impact on their communities.  We simply provide resources and support for their work.

Project Spotlight

Resourceful Communities has helped partners establish NC's first community forest on a 532-acre parcel in Hoke County. Community forestry engages local partners in planning, management and stewardship. Adjacent to forestlands with the second largest US population of the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker, this community forest will restore habitat and provide economic, recreational and educational opportunities and more.
