Our diverse partners and communities drive the mission of Resourceful Communities. We collaborate with our partners on strategies that are dynamic and responsive to the particular assets, needs and priorities of each community.

We help partners access resources and learn techniques to advance non-traditional, asset-based approaches to age-old problems such as poverty, racism and resource loss.

Resourceful Communities builds relationships and follows the lead and wisdom of local leaders in crafting strategies to build on assets, address deficits and strengthen communities. Through our peer learning network, partner organizations mentor and model for one another to foster sustainable collaborations that net meaningful results.

This network is comprised of community leaders, nonprofits, municipalities and state agencies. Download a current list of partners here.   Click here for a map of where we work.

Project Spotlight

Resourceful Communities has helped partners establish NC's first community forest on a 532-acre parcel in Hoke County. Community forestry engages local partners in planning, management and stewardship. Adjacent to forestlands with the second largest US population of the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker, this community forest will restore habitat and provide economic, recreational and educational opportunities and more.
